State police at Lehighton said the deaths of a Monroe County couple are not suspicious.

Troopers said on Sunday they responded to a home at 128 Hemlock Drive in Polk Township. Found in the home was the bodies of Harry Wassmer, 56, and his wife, Laura Mae Wassmer, 51. Troopers said in their report that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Autopsies were performed at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, on Monday to determine the cause and manner of death, troopers added.

The Monroe County Coroner’s office deferred comments to state police. No other details were available.
