Franklin Township’s board of supervisors appointed Jason Doll as the chief of police Tuesday night.

The terms of Doll’s contract, including his wages, have yet to be settled, according to township secretary Brenda Neeb.

His current salary is $31.90 per hour.

Doll, who has been acting police chief since April 1, said after the meeting that he was “very honored” to be named chief of police.

“It’s an honor to continue the good tradition of the Franklin Township Police Department,” Doll said.

Doll added that he wants to continue operating the department at a “high level of efficiency.”

He said he would like to improve upon some of the things they’ve already been doing “to modify and streamline the department.”

The department has two full-time officers, including Doll, and five part-timers.

He has been a full-time officer with the police department since 2003.

Thomas Beltz had previously served as the chief of police until he retired April 1.

Beltz had been a member of the police department for over 30 years.
