A look back: November 30, 1986
State Rep. Keith McCall, 122nd District, was the keynote speaker at the Kunkletown Fire Company dedication ceremony held at the fire hall.
He said the event was not a dedication of a firetruck, but, rather, a “dedication for men,” as it is the dedication of the volunteers who make such an occasion happen, he said.
The firefighters officially put into service their new pumper, which was christened by Fire Chief Leon Frable and Assistant Fire Chief Gary Hoffman.
Robert Silfies Sr., company president, said the truck acquisition was dedicated to former company chiefs, the late Harold Borger and Wesley Christman.
The fire company has been in existence since its founding in 1952.
