A look back: December 1, 1962

Representatives of Carbon County and the Panther Valley are attending the 26-hour American Cancer Society Crusade Conference at the Capitol Motel in Harrisburg.

Attending from the local unit of the American Cancer Society are Mayor Miles Mertz, Palmerton, District 6 Crusade chairman; Edward L. Schaefer, Summit Hill, county special gifts chairman; Willard Wilhelm, Palmerton, public relations education chairman; and Mrs. Robert T. Shinton, executive director.

Congressman John C. Kunkle will be among the keynote speakers at the annual event.

Richard Edwards of Lansford, is the 1963 Carbon County Crusade chairman.
