Carbon approves changes to CDBG projects
Carbon County commissioners on Thursday approved changes to three Community Development Block Grant projects.
In Banks Township, changes in the scope of work added $14,989 to the Cherry Street sanitary sewer project, bringing the contract total to $68,560.88.
The original contract, with M&J Excavation, Bloomsburg, was for $53,571.88. The CDBG allocation was $66,250; the township will pay the $2,310.88 difference.
In Lansford, the fourth change order to the contract with Northeast Industrial Services, Shamokin, reduced the Elks building demolition project contract by $3,270, bringing the contract total to $141,420.80.
The original contract was for $118,748. The first change order added $27,000; the second subtracted $6,927.20; and the third added $5,870.
In Nesquehoning, a change order to the contract with Lehigh Asphalt Paving & Construction, Tamaqua, for the Hazard Street reconstruction project reduced the cost by $3,790.61. That brings the contract to $85,904.89.
The original contract was for $89,695.50. The CBDG allocation was $65,350; the borough will pay the difference.
