Schuylkill County court — guilty pleas
Schuylkill County judges accepted guilty pleas from four people charged by local police.
Brett Rodriguez, 38, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police with charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct on Jan. 30, 2017.
He pleaded guilty to the conduct charge, and Judge James P. Goodman fined him $300. The paraphernalia charge was dropped.
Kevin J. Quirk, 61, of Tamaqua, was charged by Rush Township police with driving under the influence, improper turning movements and careless driving on Oct. 26, 2016.
He pleaded to DUI. Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin ordered a presentence investigation, and plans to sentence Quirk at 2 p.m. Jan. 8, 2018.
Charges of improper turning movements and careless driving were dropped.
Jason L. Brown, 43, of Barnesville, was charged by Ryan Township police with harassment by communication, harassment by following in public places, and stalking on Feb. 27.
He pleaded guilty to harassment, and Judge John E. Domalakes placed him on probation for 12 months.
Brown was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, stay away from the victim, and pay court costs and fees.
Gregory M. Muffley, 34, of McAdoo, was charged by borough police with harassment and improper driving without lights. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of illegal operation of vehicle without ignition interlock on Jan. 23.
He pleaded guilty to harassment and improper driving without lights. The other charges were dropped.
Judge John E. Domalakes accepted the plea and fined him $325.
