Jim Thorpe news for Dec. 19, 2017

Class party

Members of the 1964 class of Jim Thorpe High School will enjoy a Christmas party on Wednesday at Platz’s in Lehighton starting at noon. On the agenda for the afternoon will be caroling, pictorial displays for voting and the upcoming year lunch gatherings.

Children’s party

The Diligent Fire Company will host its annual Christmas party for children up to the age of 10 on Saturday. The event will be held at the company headquarters, Centre Avenue, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Christmas Eve

St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will hold its Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. on Sunday. On Dec. 31, there will be the service of communion, lessons and carols beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Saturday night services on Dec. 23 and Dec. 30.
