Rush Township hires new secretary
Rush Township has a new secretary on the books.
The township’s board of supervisors on a 2-0 vote Thursday agreed to hire Deborah Del Franco as township secretary-treasurer at the rate of $17 per hour, effective Jan. 2. Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni was absent.
Del Franco, who supervisors said resides in the township, will succeed former township Secretary-Treasurer Katie Orlick, who resigned last month.
Orlick was hired last month as West Penn Township secretary at the rate of $17.50 an hour.
She replaced Patricia Nothstein, whom West Penn hired in March as part-time secretary as needed, at a salary of $10 an hour.
Nothstein had been hired to fill in for former full-time secretary Bobbijean Muffley, who went out on disability leave.
That came several weeks after West Penn appointed Herb Woodring as a temporary secretary at the rate of $12.75 an hour while Muffley was out.
In August, West Penn supervisors accepted the resignation of Muffley, and also approved a settlement agreement with Muffley in which she was to be paid $10,000 as part of the agreement.
