Deer rescued from icy pond

Firefighters from two communities worked feverishly to save a deer stranded on a pond in Walker Township. Fire personnel from the New England Fire Company were assisted by the water rescue team of the Schuylkill Haven Fire Company. The team worked to save the deer on the large pond located along Shady Lane. The team was able to get the doe to the far shore where it ran off into a field.
