Hazleton man wanted for Chestnuthill attempted homicide

A Hazleton man is wanted in an attempted homicide investigation, state police said Wednesday.

Aquiles Conde Shenery, 32, shot Harry Read, 39, of Chestnuthill Township Tuesday following a verbal argument outside Read’s residence, according to state police at Fern Ridge.

Read told police he turned to walk back toward his residence, when Conde-Shenery shot him in the midsection with a .22-caliber rifle around 6:30 p.m.

Read was transported to Pocono Medical Center, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Police have an active arrest warrant for Conde-Shenery. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police at 570-646-2271.
