Schuylkill County sets yearly schedule

Schuylkill County commissioners held their annual reorganization meeting Tuesday, retaining Republican George F. Halcovage Jr. as chairman.
The other commissioners are Democrat Gary J. Hess and Republican Frank J. Staudenmeier.
Commissioners will continue to hold public workshop meetings in the county courthouse, 401 N. Second St., Pottsville, at 10 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, with regular public meetings held at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays.
The exceptions are May, July and November, when the work sessions will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17; Thursday, July 5; and Thursday, Nov. 8.
Exceptions to the regular public meeting schedule will be ones held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 25; 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9; and 6 p.m. Oct. 24.
Salary Board meetings will be held as needed immediately following the regular public meetings.
The Retirement Board will meet on the second Wednesday of each month, immediately following the regular public meeting. In August, it will be held on Aug. 9.
The Prison Board will meet at 11 a.m. on Jan. 10, Feb. 21, March 21, April 18, May 23, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.
The March, June, September and December meetings will be held at the county prison at 230 Sanderson St., Pottsville. The others will be held in the commissioners’ boardroom at the courthouse.
