Sarah Yuskanish celebrates 102 years

Sarah Yuskanish celebrated her 102nd birthday on Jan. 2.

The daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Mikulka) Galgoci, Sarah was a lifelong resident of Lansford. She is currently a resident of the Scared Heart Villa in Reading.

She was married to the late John Yuskanish for 63 years.

She retired from Rosenau Bros. after 42 years. Sarah was a member of the choir at St. Michael’s, now St. Joseph’s.

Sarah has two daughters, Janice Gieniec, wife of James Gieniec of Lehighton, and Irene Huegel of Delaware. She has four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
