State police open registration for camp for special needs individuals

The Pennsylvania State Police are now accepting registrations for the 2018 Troop N Sunny Day Camp.

The event for children and adults with disabilities or special needs will take place May 12 at Pocono Raceway from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Registration is open to children and adults ages 8 and up who live in Carbon, Monroe, Luzerne or Columbia counties.

The event is a free, fun-filled and interactive day with law enforcement, put together with assistance from Special Olympics, local businesses and community agencies.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Registration is limited to 350 people, and the deadline is April 6. If openings are available, registration may be opened to people living outside the Troop N area.

The rain date for the event is May 19.
