Warrant issued for woman accused of stealing

A warrant has been issued for a Lehighton woman accused of stealing valuables from another woman’s home.

Jessica Valentini, 40, of the 300 block of Fairview Street, faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman Tyler Meek of the Mahoning Township Police Department:

At 5:50 p.m. Oct. 12, officer Corey Frey took a burglary report that occurred at a residence located in the 2000 block of Mahoning Drive East.

The victim came to the station with another woman to make written statements.

She told police said that while she was not at the residence, Valentini entered and stole six items of clothing worth $515.

The victim identified the items stolen as black Harley boots, Timberland boots, high black dress boots, black dress shoes, summer clothing, and a blue and white-striped Daytona bag.

The victim said the only other person who was permitted inside of the residence was the woman who accompanied her to the station.

The other woman said that at around 2:30 p.m. Oct. 12, she saw Valentini pull into her driveway with her son, at which time Valentini approached the door and knocked.

The other woman said she did not answer the door and saw Valentini return to her vehicle.

About two minutes later, the woman heard a noise from the back bedroom. As she approached the back bedroom, she opened the door and saw Valentini in the victim’s bedroom.

The woman asked Valentini if anyone knew she was there, and Valentini said, “No, do they know you are here?”

The woman told Valentini that the victim knew she was there.

Valentini then proceeded out the door with a crate full of boots, shoes, and the blue and white shoulder bag full of clothing.

Meek has attempted to locate Valentini to interview her, but has been unable to locate her.

A warrant has been issued to Valentini due to a felony charge.
