Northern Lehigh School Board
Northern Lehigh School Board, on an 8-0 vote, with Director Debra Bower absent, approved the following at their recent meeting:
• The resignation of Rhakeith Crosby from his position as Slatington Elementary custodian, effective Dec. 11, 2017.
• The transfer of Lori Paules from emotional support paraprofessional at Slatington Elementary School to emotional support paraprofessional at Peters Elementary School, at no change in salary.
• The transfer of Amanda Grozier from paraprofessional PCA for a student at Peters Elementary School to paraprofessional PCA for the student at Slatington Elementary School, at no change in salary.
• The appointment of Crystal Buck from senior high school cook’s helper replacing Cathleen Rowlands, who retired, at a salary of $12 an hour Monday through Friday, five hours per day, up to 180 student days a school year, plus additional cleaning days as needed, effective Jan. 9.
• Acknowledged that Lisa Hairston has completed the requirements per the Collective Bargaining Agreement that would entitle her to a salary increase for the second half of the 2017-18 school year.
• Shannon Jones, K-12, as a substitute teacher for the 2017-18 school year at the 2017-18 substitute teacher rates.
• Permission to Michele Dotta to attend the PDE Conference 2018 “Making a Difference: Educational Practices that Work!” Feb. 26-28 at the Hershey Lodge Convention Center, Hershey, with the cost of registration $159, lodging, $258, meals, $64, and travel, $86, for a total cost of about $567, to be funded from the district’s special education budget.
• Permission to Bryan Geist to attend the 51st Annual Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association Conference March 21-23 at the Hershey Lodge Convention Center, Hershey, with the cost of registration $250, lodging, $386, meals, $80, and travel, $86, for a total cost of about $802, to be funded from the district’s athletic department budget.
• A resolution from Lehigh Carbon Community College allowing the college to enter into an exchange transaction with City Center Investment Corp. to transfer by deed to Five City Center OP, LP the Donley Center, comprising of real estate as per the resolution, at no cost to the college other than applicable closing costs.
