Burglary attempted at 93-year-old's home

An attempted burglary at a home owned by a 93-year-old Lower Towamensing Township man is under investigation by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said the incident happened between 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 a.m. Monday at 2950 Fireline Road in the township.

Police said someone attempted to break into the residence by damaging a rear door. Police said the intruder(s) was unable to enter the residence and fled the scene undetected.
