Community dinner
Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville has a free community dinner on its calendar for 5 p.m. today.

Chestnuthill
The Chestnuthill Township Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. today. To verify, call the township office at 570-992-7247.
Youth Program
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, offers a youth program for seventh through 12th grade, Zero One, which meets at 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the church on Weir Lake Road.
King’s Kids is a program of Bible teaching and activities geared to children K-4 to 1st grade. It is offered during both services.
PV Kids is a program of Bible teaching, songs and activities geared to children age 3-12, and is offered in the lower level of the church during both services.
Girls Ministries is for girls in K through sixth grade at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
Royal Rangers is for Boys K through sixth grade at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. That gathering is for learning God’s word and biblical values as well as having fun-filled activities.
WE Little League
The West End Little League meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chestnuthill Township Park.
Spring registration is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium at the Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville.

Paint in the Park
Prepaid registration for a Paint in the Park event is due by Thursday via paypal.me/Commun1tyCreations for participating in a Be Mine Frosty painting on a 12-by-12 canvas or pallet from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mission meal
The West End Mission meal held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert will be from 4:40 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
Lions meet
The Western Pocono Lions Club begins its new year by holding its January dinner meeting and board meeting Thursday at in the large back room of Cherry’s on Route 209 in Kresgeville.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. and the members can begin to order off the menu at 6:30 p.m. The dinner meeting will begin at 7 p.m. All members are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to be given to the PVEN food pantry, or simply feed the Purple Pig.
Christian Unity
The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins Thursday and continues through Jan. 25.
A Prayer Service for Christian Unity will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert. A lunch will follow.

Monroe Seniors
The Chestnuthill Seniors meeting in Zion Lutheran’s Fellowship Hall in Brodheadsville will meet Fridays and Wednesdays. This coming Friday they can order beef and bean chili and for next Wednesday baked fish with parsley butter.
The orders must be placed by 11 a.m. the day before by calling the site manager at 570-242-6770.
Doors open at 9 a.m. for socialization and close at 2 p.m.
Watershed info
An informational session regarding the joint Penn Sate Extension and the Monroe County Conservation District launching a Master Watershed Steward Program will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Monroe County Conservation District site at 8050 Running Valley Road in Stroudsburg.
The MWS is recruiting 20 to 25 interested people as volunteers, giving them training and then expecting those volunteers to give back, covering a variety of activities and services.
