A look back: January 16, 1976

Zion Lutheran Church in Weatherly has been recommended as a third nutrition site in Carbon County.

This was revealed during a meeting of the advisory council of the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging, conducted by Joseph Fitzgerald of Palmerton, newly elected president of the board.

Leonard Marzen, agency director, detailed the programs to the board and said the Weatherly church would join St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Summit Hill, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Lehighton, as the agency’s nutrition centers, subject to approval of the county commissioners.

Barbara Christopher of Summit Hill is in charge of the nutrition program.
