State police report on Schuylkill County incidents

• State police at Schuylkill Haven went to Tremont Township to serve a felony warrant at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 18. and ended up taking Tyler Nornhold, 20, of Pine Grove, into custody in the 500 block of Splitters Road. He was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

• Mark R. Staller, 22, of Pine Grove, was cited for a traffic incident after a mishap at 4:56 p.m. Jan. 20 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township. State police at Frackville said he was southbound in a 1999 Acura Integra when it approached a slower-moving tractor trailer. Staller attempted to pass the rig in the right lane at the same time the tractor trailer operator moved over. Police said Staller panicked and over-steered by turning the steering wheel to a hard left, at which time the Integra left the road, went down a slight embankment into the median and struck a traffic sign. The vehicle re-entered the southbound lane of the interstate and the driver was able to safely pull it onto the shoulder of the road. He was uninjured.

• Minna Song, 24, of Arlington, VA, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 4:51 p.m. Jan. 21 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township. State police at Frackville said she was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry southbound when it left the roadway and traveled into the median, rolling over once and coming to rest on its wheels. The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. Song was cited for the incident.

• State police at Schuylkill Haven said Paulette Sue Stablum, 46, of Minersville, was observed by store security at Boscov’s Department Store in the Fairlane Village Mall, East Norwegian Township, placing a number of items on her and then exiting the store without paying for them. The incident occurred at 12:43 p.m. Jan. 6. Charges were filed for retail theft.
