It was a good weekend for area boys teams, as all four in action posted wins.

Gaining the victories were Marian, Tamaqua, Weatherly and Pleasant Valley.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Marian-Lin. Leadership

Marian was victorious in a non-league shootout against Lincoln Leadership, 79-69.

Marian’s Tyler Fritz poured in a game-high 27 points, while Chris Ritsick finished with 17.

The Colts (8-7), who hit 11 three-pointers, also received 15 points from Dante Agosti and 10 from Noah Stauffer.

Tamaqua- Upper Dauphin

Tamaqua never relinquished an early double-digit lead en route to a 56-36 non-league victory over Upper Dauphin.

Brayden Knoblauch had a dozen points to lead the Blue Raiders (14-5), who led by 22 points at halftime.

Thad Zuber and Lucas Gregoire each finished with 11.

Pen Argyl-Weatherly

Twelve different Weatherly players reached the scoring column as the Wreckers cruised to a 72-42 non-league win over Pen Argyl.

Scott Zoscin led the way with 15 points, while Gabe Miller chipped in with nine.

Weatherly (7-9) also received seven points from Zach Buck.

Pleasant Valley raced to an early lead and held on to post a 55-43 non-league win over North Schuylkill.

Isaiah Howard and Andrius Harrison-Gaddist each scored 11 points for the Bears, who held a 19-5 advantage after the first quarter.

PV (9-8) also received nine points from Deshawn Scarboro.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tamaqua-Mahanoy Area

Mahanoy Area rolled to a 58-32 non-league win against Tamaqua.

Jordan Karmonick, who hit six three-pointers, paved the way for the Bears with 22 points. Mahanoy finished with 13 three-pointers in the win.

Emma Kuczynski had 15 points to lead Tamaqua (10-8), while Emily Titus added eight.

A 21-point third quarter sparked Allen to a 57-42 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pleasant Valley.

Kion Andrews paced the Canaries with 19 points, while Jakayla Wise and Miriam Rodriguez followed with 16 and 11, respectively.

Madison Rosenberg topped the Bears (10-7) with 15 points.

Joe Coleman had a game-high 13 points for the Blue Raiders.

Tamaqua-North Schuylkill

Tamaqua fell to North Schuylkill, 55-32.

For the Blue Raiders, Nate Gregoire had 12 points, while Joe Coleman added 10.
