Northern Lehigh ended a three-year District 11 dryspell with a win over Salisbury on Monday.

The Northern Lehigh girls also posted a victory, as did the Panther Valley boys.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Northern Lehigh-Salisbury

Northern Lehigh clinched a District 11 playoff berth with a 47-40 Colonial League win over Salisbury.

Despite a slow start, the Bulldogs (11-10, 8-9) got their act together and nabbed the victory behind 11 points apiece from Preston Kemery and Brandon Hess. Gio Colon and Robert Shoff both chipped in with eight.

For the Falcons (5-12, 5-16), Kahleel Foster’s 20 points led the way.

Northern Lehigh also prevailed in the JV contest, 53-51.

Panther Valley-Shenandoah

Panther Valley routed Shenandoah Valley for a 55-13 Schuylkill League victory.

The Panthers (14-7, 9-3) put together an incredible first half, building a 50-6 lead and putting the game into the mercy rule for the final two periods.

Leading the Panthers in scoring were Rene Figueroa, with a game-high 22 points, and Tristan Blasko, who added eight.

The victory sets up a showdown between Marian and Panther Valley on Thursday to decide the Schuylkill League Division 3 championship. The Panthers hold a one-game lead heading into the regular season finale and will clinch the title with a victory. The Colts would need to win Thursday to force a playoff for the division title.

Panther Valley also won the JV contest, 60-31.

Pleasant Valley-Freedom

Freedom edged Pleasant Valley, 60-56, in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference game.

Dylan Arnold tallied a game-high 17 points to lead the Patriots (8-13), who shot a perfect 15-of-15 at the foul line.

For the Bears, Noah Neubert and Andrius Harrison-Gaddist both finished with 16 points. PV (11-10) also received 15 from Isaiah Howard.

Northern Lehigh outlasted Salisbury in Colonial League action, 58-54.

The high-scoring duo of Jada Saeger (30 points) and Jill Olewine (16) paced the Bulldogs (7-14, 7-10).

For the Falcons (8-13, 7-10), Sarah McGee hit four treys en route to a team-high 21 points.

Freedom was able to withstand Pleasant Valley’s late charge for a 57-51 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory.

Jennifer Kokolus led the Patriots (16-4) with a game-high 19 points.

Masani Francis scored 16 to lead the Bears (12-9), while Brianna Clark followed with 14 and Cameron Caffrey added 11.
