Car strikes deer on Interchange Road

A 2013 Honda CRV sustained heavy damages when it struck a deer that entered the roadway of Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

The incident happened at 1:50 a.m. Monday just south of Sei Pike Road in the township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Jeremy K. Wheaton, 33, of Kresgeville, was driving the vehicle northbound when it was unable to stop in time and struck the deer.

The car sustained heavy front end damages to the hood, bumper and grill and the passenger's side front panel.

In addition to the driver, Kristle M. Wheaton, 31, also of Kresgeville, a passenger, also escaped injuries.
