State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes investigated by troopers recently.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported about 4:09 p.m. on Feb. 15 along Route 61 in Palo Alto borough. Troopers said Qin Y. Lin, 65, of New York City, New York, was driving a 2017 van southbound while Tristyn M. McKeown, 22, of Pottsville, driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, was attempting to make a turn onto Bacon Street from Route 61 south. As McKeown attempted to turn left Lin failed to stop and his van rear-ended the Jeep.

McKeown was injured and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital — East, Pottsville. Lin and passenger, Anthony Garcia, 34, of Queens, New York, were not injured. Troopers cited Lin for driving at a unsafe speed.

• A crash was reported about 11:44 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Route 61 and South Liberty Street in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Martena G. Schnerring, 93, of Orwigsburg, drove west over 61 from S. Liberty and into the path of Vincent J. Madonna, 48, of Port Carbon, who was southbound on 61. Madonna swerved to avoid a collision but his 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup struck the front passenger side of Schnerring’s 2000 Dodge Stratus with the front passenger side bumper.

The Stratus was pushed south and spun full circle clockwise and came to final rest facing west. The Ram continued off the road and struck a street sign before coming back onto 61 where it came to final rest. Both drivers were injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital — East, Pottsville.

Both vehicles were towed. Troopers cited Schnerring for the crash.
