Mental health first aid course

Published June 14. 2016 04:00PM

You are more likely to encounter someone in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental health first aid teaches a five-step action plan to offer initial help to those with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or crisis, and connect them with the appropriate care.

Anyone is welcome to take this eight-hour mental health first aid course, hosted by Carbon Monroe Pike MH/DS, which will be given from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 29 and July 15 at the Monroe County Control Center, 100 Gypsum Road in Stroudsburg.

This free course includes a three-year certification.
