Lansford man pleads to several counts
A Lansford man pleaded guilty on Friday to counts of retail theft and criminal mischief and then sentenced on those counts plus three others which he previously pleaded guilty.
Jeremy Scott Rawlins, 30, entered his pleas before Judge Joseph J. Matika.
The retail theft occurred on Sept. 5, 2017, at the Giant store in Mahoning Township. The mischief count occurred in Kidder Township on April 7, 2017.
He previously pleaded to two counts of theft by receiving stolen property and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
He was arrested on Jan. 24, 2017, by Summit Hill police for stealing two cameras from a residence along East Hazard Street.
The second receiving count occurred on Nov. 23, 2016, in East Penn Township when he took a generator. The drug count was the result of an incident on March 3 in Franklin Township in the parking lot of the Square One Market. State police at Lehighton found him asleep in a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance.
Rawlins is currently an inmate in the Monroe County prison in Snydersville serving a 60-day sentence imposed in a domestic incident.
Matika placed him on probation on all counts for a total of two years and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation and render a total of 100 hours of community service.
