A look back: FEBRUARY 27, 1971
During yesterday’s bloodmobile visit to Lehighton, 173 pints of blood were collected.
Harold Sthare received a 10-gallon pin; a 7-gallon pin went to Franklin Merluzzi; 6-gallon pin to Stuart Mertz; and 4-gallon pins were given to Leon Fronheiser and Marcy Lindermuth.
Two-gallon pins were presented to Wayne Smith, Marcus Young, John Reichard and Thomas Walck, and recipients of 1-gallon pins were Richard Benyo, Jacob Begel, Frederick Young, Harold Hamm, Harry Neff, Gerald Searfoss and Norman Sheckler.
Among the donors was a group of students from Lehighton High School, accompanied by Eugene Flicker, principal.
