Mauch Chunk Trust Company, with five branch offices in Carbon County and two in Schuylkill County, served Soup for a Cause on Feb. 23 to raise money for the Family Promise of Carbon County.

Donations were accepted for a cup of homemade soup to benefit the Family Promise of Carbon County in their mission to aid low income families.

MCT employees were able to participate in the efforts by individually donating personal hygiene items for use by Family Promise or by donating their time and talents making soup for the event.

The event raised $1,500 in Soup Day donations and gathered many boxes of personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, shampoo and deodorant.

“The staff at our bank is very involved in the community,” stated Patrick H. Reilly, president and CEO of MCT. “They serve the needs of our communities every day through a combination of their banking knowledge and their generous community spirit. I am extremely proud of all of them.”
