Neighbors helping neighbors in Indian Mountain Lakes
Neighbors came to the aid of neighbors in last week’s storm.
One example was related by Laura Jecker of Chestnuthill Township, who lives in Indian Mountain Lakes off of Route 115.
Jecker said Indian Mountain Lakes board members Steve Korte and his wife, Mimma, and Susan Hildebrand opened the clubhouse in the development to residents who were without power from Friday’s storm.
According to Jecker, the Kortes and Hildebrand set up the emergency shelter as a place that some of the 2,300 residents could come and warm up, charge their devices and grab a snack or a drink.
Alex Vitti also stepped up and the four made sure that the residents had a place to go, help digging out of the snow and a ride if needed.
