Longtime Panther Valley nurse to retire

Published March 13. 2018 02:41PM

The Panther Valley school board has accepted the resignation of a longtime nurse who plans to retire.

Kathy Inama, intermediate school nurse, plans to leave at the end of the school year after 29 years on the job.

The school board voted unanimously Thursday night to accept her resignation.

School officials said they were happy for Inama but sad to see her go.

“I feel awful that she has to go, but I understand, I respect it. She’s been an asset to the school district. What else can you say?” Superintendent Dennis Kergick said.

Board member Renee DeMelfi said Inama goes far beyond the regular duties of a school nurse.

“She’s phenomenal. I’m gonna miss her,” DeMelfi said.

Intermediate school Principal Lisa Mace said Inama has been a dedicated part of the staff and holds a wealth of knowledge.

“She stays late for kids, goes above and beyond in every aspect,” she said.
