Restaurant coming to Hometown
A restaurant — possibly a Taco Bell — is headed near the Walmart in Hometown.
Rush Township supervisors on Thursday unanimously granted the requested waivers for the Tamaqua Associates LP Final Plan, as recommended by the township’s planning commission.
When resident Charles Shamonsky asked supervisors what the plan was, supervisor Robert Leibensperger said it’s for a Taco Bell at Walmart.
No other information was disclosed by supervisors on the matter.
Township planning commission solicitor Peter Fagan said that Tamaqua Associates has not disclosed exactly what restaurant it plans to open.
In other action, supervisors:
• Accepted a 90-day time extension as provided by the developer for Gellner & Co. Land Development.
• Approved the sale of 1 Messerschmidt Street by the Schuylkill County Tax Claim Bureau in the amount of $1,159.
