A look back: March 17, 1951
The wearin’ of the green was everywhere in evidence in the courthouse Friday as county workers paid honor to the Sons of Erin. The cutest little trick of all was Alice, 3-year-old daughter of County Commissioner and Mrs. Ambrose O’Donnell of Summit Hill, who sported a predominantly green dress which was completed only Thursday by her aunt, Mrs. Maymie Cadden of Nesquehoning. It was Alice’s first visit to the county building and she made a decided hit with all as she gave forth with her best Irish smile while her beaming father looked on approvingly.
