March 19, 1994 — Northern Lehigh’s Jeremy Dogmanits and Mike Altif both receive state medals after closing out the PIAA wrestling championships. Dogmanits, coached by Bob Kern, finishes with a second-place finish after suffering a tough 7-5 overtime loss to Jonathan Hazi of Reynolds in the 103-pound title bout. Hazi is awarded a controversial takedown during the OT to gain the gold. Altif captures his medal at 130 pounds, edging Pine Grove’s Ted Kemmerling, 8-7, in the fifth-place match.
