Lansford council
Lansford council also acted on the following items last week:
• Appointed the Rev. Hugh Vrablic to a seat on the zoning hearing board.
• Approved a request from American Legion Post 123 to hold a Veterans Day parade on Nov. 11.
• Mayor James Romankow announced a darts tournament on March 31 at American Fire Co. No. 1 to benefit the fire department. Cost is $25 per player and food and drinks will be served.
• Sought appraisals for a borough-owned property that they are considering selling.
• Passed a resolution allowing Friends of the Lansford Pool to seek a $20,000 grant for pool renovations. Council President Jared Soto said the recent $35,000 LSA grant does not have to be spent until 2021, however the borough needs to enter into a contract with the state to receive the funds in the near future.
