Money wasted by diocese

What is the Diocese of Allentown thinking? They want to buy a school in Hometown for $1.2 million. They purchased an apartment building on Pine Street in Tamaqua for $101,000. They have to pay more money to demolish it and pave the lot to make more parking for people to attend an already overcrowded church a short distance from the lot.

On the other hand, a perfectly good school (Our Lady of the Angels Academy) and church in Lansford stand empty. The former church of St. Michael is a very spacious church able to accommodate the faithful Catholics. There is also ample parking for all the cars.

Why doesn’t the diocese care about the Catholics of Carbon and Schuylkill counties? Bishop Schlert should stop the insanity and do the right thing and leave a church open in each town so everybody can go to church, including all the people who could walk.

I guess the diocese thinks it’s all right to waste your hard earned money when they already have good properties they can use. Be aware where your money is being spent.

Bishop Barres said no one will be harmed by closing our church, but I am harmed.

Saint Michael be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

Lost without a church,

Michele Hackash

Lansford

I hope you don't think that the church really cares what you think. The only thing they care about is how much you can give them weekly and why not more.
