Girardville’s annual Irish Day parade rescheduled to April 14
Due to safety concerns from the recent snowstorm, the Girardville Irish Day Parade Committee has rescheduled its 15th annual parade to Saturday, April 14. The parade will commence promptly at noon.
Organizations and other participants can still register for the 2018 parade by calling Donald Dudash at 570-874-2455 or online at www.girardvilleirishparade.com.
The parade features five divisions and 16 bands with numerous additional floats, antique vehicles and special entries. The theme of this year’s parade is the “Salute to the Residents of Girardville.” The Grand Marshal for the 2018 parade is former Congressman Timothy Holden.
Parade day activities begin at 10 a.m. with an Irish Mass at Saint Vincent’s Worship Center at Second and C streets in Girardville. An outdoor celebration will follow the parade at the Hibernian House at Beech and Line streets in the borough.
