Schuylkill County court — ARD

Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin has accepted six people charged by local police into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.

Acceptance into the program does not imply an admission of guilt. If the defendants successfully complete the program, their records may be expunged.

Each defendant was accepted into ARD for one year. Defendants are typically ordered to pay a fee ranging from $450 to $500 to offset the costs of the program, and to perform 10 to 20 hours of community service.

Dawn M. May, 42, of Barnesville: Charged by Butler Township police with theft and receiving stolen property on April 10, 2017.

John R. Miller, 23, of McAdoo: Charged by state police at Frackville with driving under the influence on May 14, 2017.

Anthony Reed, 20, of Tamaqua: Charged by McAdoo police with theft, receiving stolen property and retail theft on April 24, 2017. Baldwin also ordered Reed to pay $697 restitution.

Rebecca Rickert, 37, of Lansford: Charged by Coaldale police with possession of drug paraphernalia on April 22, 2017.

Leigh A. Scheffler, 26, of New Ringgold: Charged by Pottsville police with driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 24, 2017.

Pedro Rodriguez-Acevedo, 69, of Reading: Charged by McAdoo police with driving under the influence and failing to use his low beams on March 18, 2017.
