'Godspell' at Jerusalem UCC in Trachsville

Jerusalem UCC, Trachsville, will present an outdoor production of the musical "Godspell" in the church grove at 545 Church Drive in Palmerton.

Performances will be 7 p.m. June 23 and 24 (rain date June 26), and July 1 and 2 (rain date July 3)

Admission is free, but a freewill offering will be taken and concessions sold to help defray costs, raise funds for the church and to support the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Some seating will be available, but you may wish to bring your own chair.

"Godspell" is largely based on the Gospel of Matthew, and is a joyous, moving retelling of Christ's words and parables using modern music and improvisation. It includes the hit song, "Day By Day."

The cast features Matthew Binder, Saralyn Sarandis, Kelly Heinick, Jessie Hunt, Kathryn Foster, Hilari Stahler, Teyha Berkner, Chad Miller, John Kelly, and Phil Milia as Jesus. The show features a live band consisting of Shelba Scheffner, Paul Cincilla, Rick Pontician, John Lucas and Bob Fahringer.
