A look back: April 4, 1969

Following a heavy voter turnout yesterday, Joseph Martino was elected mayor of Youth Week in Summit Hill. A senior at Panther Valley High School, he is a member of the Politicians of Tomorrow Party.

The new mayor defeated Christy Lisella of the Students for Tomorrow Progress Party.

Other youths elected were George Chupa, Ronald Everett, Carlo Collevechio, Debbie Bargilone, Janice Black, Ann Marie Koshuta, Ben Davis, Dennis Anderson and Carol Watto, borough council; Thomas Watkins, magistrate; Donna Breslin, tax collector; and Becky Stout and Mark Frassinelli, school directors.

Thomas Wehr is serving as chairman of the youth week event.
