LV Arts Council grant-writing workshops
Lehigh Valley Arts Council has announced workshop dates for the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Project Stream grant opportunity (https://bit.ly/2GDq2Dp) — an annual, free, educational initiative that helps potential applicants understand the community arts grant’s review criteria. Workshops will be held in Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties.
“The PPA program seeks to reach underserved communities through public arts engagement,” stated Zach Kleemeyer, Community Engagement coordinator at Lehigh Valley Arts Council. “The workshops are helpful because applicants have the opportunity to receive immediate feedback on their project ideas, as well as prepare themselves for everything that will be asked of them.”
The grant program is very competitive and people who attend a workshop receive a better review. Nearly 60 applications are submitted annually, with 40 percent funded. There are eligibility requirements for the Project Stream grant, but generally the opportunity is available to individuals, community groups, and nonprofits.
The Lehigh Valley Arts Council is the administering partner with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. This year the total amount is $39,709.
Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Kleemeyer at 610-437-5915 or ppa@lvartscouncil.org to RSVP their intention to attend one of the following workshops:
• May 3, Touchstone Theatre, 321 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem
