Two businesses cited by liquor board

Two Carbon County businesses have been cited by the Wilkes- Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the liquor code.

Griffs Ale Haus and Grille in Lehighton was cited for unlawful gambling.The incidents occurred on April 22, May 7 and 10.

Trattoria 903 Inc., located at 874 Route 903, Penn Forest Township, was cited for operating the establishment without a valid health permit or license during the period of Oct. 18, through Jan. 5, which expired on Oct. 17, 2015.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and as much as $5,000 for more serious offenses.

The judge can also impose a suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
