A look back: April 9, 1962

Citations were given to seven American Legion posts in the 30th District yesterday at Wind Gap for exceeding their membership quotas.

The awards were presented to posts in Beaver Meadows, Canadensis, Gilbert, Lansford, Northampton, Summit Hill and Walnutport.

The district, composed of posts in Carbon, Monroe and Northampton counties, has a membership of 7,657.

The district will hold election of officers at its June meeting in Roseto. Candidates for the position of district commander are Donald McPherson of Hellertown and Richard Davey of Wind Gap.
