New Cub Scout pack holds first pinewood derby
Newly formed Cub Scout Pack 765 in Lansford had their first pinewood derby on March 25. Fifteen Cub Scouts from the Panther Valley area participated in the derby.
Charles Achey won the Cub Favorite medal, which was voted on by his fellow Scouts. Cole Shemansik won the first-place trophy for fastest car followed by Teegan Brideson and Robert Mickonis. Austin Chapman won the first-place trophy for Best Workmanship followed by Teegan Brideson and Ethan Zettlemoyer. Dallas Clark won the first place trophy for Most Creative followed by Logan Smale and Duke Shemansik.
Each Cub Scout received a ribbon and a certificate for participating.
Pack 765 is always looking for new members who are in kindergarten through fifth grade in the Panther Valley area. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 E. Abbott St., Lansford. For more information contact Rich at 570-657-6159.
