Carbon County court — ARD

Nine first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Monday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Kyle Aaron-Lee Clark, 18, of Walnutport, was placed on drug charges including manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver. He was arrested by Palmerton police on Dec. 29, 2017, in the 800 block of Alley L.

He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.

Clarissa Colondo, 19, of Lehighton, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. She was arrested on Nov. 13, 2017, by Lehighton police in the 200 block of North Second Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

She was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 90 days.

Michael Timothy Devine, 26, of Philadelphia, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on Oct. 12, 2017, by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 and the entrance to the turnpike in Franklin Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Harry John Gasker Sr., 68, of Nesquehoning, was placed on a charge of providing false information on a firearms application. He was arrested by Franklin Township police for an incident at Bucks Sporting Goods, Indian Hill Road, on Oct. 24, 2017.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.

Trevor Michael Highland, 28, of Summit Hill, was placed on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Nov. 22, 2017, along Route 209 at Main Road in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.

Tyree Darren Jackson, 27, of Allentown, was placed for two years on a charge of receiving stolen property. He was arrested on April 7, 2017, by state police at Lehighton, following a traffic stop along Route 248 at the Palmerton exit. He had in his possession a 9 mm pistol previously reported stolen.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 100 hours of community service.

Robin A. Kucowski, 56, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 22, 2017, by Lehighton police along Route 443. A test revealed a 0.29 BAC.

He was assessed $550, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Debra Ann McComb, 61, of Slatedale, was placed for six months on a charge of retail theft. She was arrested on Jan. 2 by Palmerton police at the Country Harvest store.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 25 hours of community service and make restitution to the victim for $6.24.

Christyann Paparozzi, 27, of Albrightsville, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Nov. 12, 2017, by state police at Fern Ridge in the 100 block of East Cherokee Trail, in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

She was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee and those charged with DUI must follow any recommendation of their D&A evaluation.
