A look back: April 13, 1955
Bert Silver of Lansford, chairman of the Panther Valley Business and Professional Men’s Committee for New Industry, announced today that an open house will be held at the Lansford Shoe Corporation.
The committee solicited pledges totaling some $40,000 to help bring the shoe firm to the Panther Valley and made arrangements for the open house with the Lansford Local, United Shoemakers of America.
The plant is set up in what had been the storehouse building of the Lansford shops. Spacious and well-constructed, the building has been greatly renovated to use to best advantage its large two floors.
