Nesquehoning emergency crews were on scene to assist a tractor-trailer that got stuck on a borough street on Tuesday morning.

But when they arrived, they found the driver had possibly overdosed and was unresponsive.

The incident happened after 9 a.m. on the 200 block of West Railroad Street in Nesquehoning.

According to reports, the driver was traveling east on the road when he overdosed, causing the rig come to rest across the street and damage a resident’s property.

Nesquehoning police, as well as crews from New Columbus and Hauto fire companies assisted Lehighton Ambulance with the scene.

No word on the driver’s condition has been released at this time.

Comments
So what happened prior to this when the truck was idle by CVS and the police arrived, unable to find the driver until the driver came down Mermon Ave? Could this have been prevented? The incident could have been much worse, as it backed into the only property on the street where the house is recessed on the property. Any other house would have been struck. Why is there no report on the prior interaction with police?
