Monroe man pleads to heroin trafficking

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Patrick Hynes, 21, of Tobyhanna, pleaded guilty on Tuesday before U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo to conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine.

United States Attorney David J. Freed said Hynes admitted to participating in a conspiracy to distribute between 40 and 60 grams of heroin (which is equivalent to 1,600 to 2,400 individual doses of heroin), as well as additional quantities of cocaine, in the Monroe County area between May and July 2015.

Davis was one of 11 people indicted by a grand jury in July 2015, and charged with conspiring to distribute heroin and cocaine in the Monroe County area.

Caputo ordered a presentence report to be completed. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department.The maximum penalty under federal law is up to 20 years in prison, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
