Tamaqua chamber trout derby
The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce and Schuylkill County Trout Unlimited have combined forces for the annual Trout Fishing Derby on the Little Schuylkill River.
The monthlong contest will begin April 28 and is also being supported by the Schuylkill County Trout Stocking Association.
The derby is open to all ages. Participants 16 and older must have a valid Pennsylvania fishing license and trout stamp.
Preregistration is available, at $10, at the chamber office, 37 W. Broad St. or Tom’s Auto Body and Marine, 250 S. Greenwood St., Tamaqua.
Registration on the opening day of the event will be $15 and registration time will be from 8 a.m. to noon, across from All American Jeep, Route 309, Pine Street, Tamaqua.
