Tamaqua School Board approves positions

Tamaqua Area School Board last week approved the following 2018-19 extracurricular positions:

High school

• John Buglio, choral director; Roseann Weinrich, biology club adviser, senior class/commencement adviser and National Honor Society volunteer adviser; Kristin Boyle, chemistry club adviser; Adriane Drum, Drama Club adviser; Erika Cassell, Drama choreographer or vocal director; Kristen Klingaman, environmental club adviser; Karen Campomizzi, freshman class adviser; Dr. Michael Sakash, junior class adviser; Amy Delpais, Drama Club marketing director; Michael Grabowski, Math Honor Society adviser; Lori Remmel, media production adviser; Lawrence Capozzelli, Physics and Engineering Club adviser; Deb Sweeney, Drama Club pit band/accompanist; Amy Gardiner, Drama Club scenic director; Millini Skuba, sophomore class adviser; Stephen Ulicny, student government leadership adviser; Amanda Hascin, world language adviser.

Middle school

• John Buglio, chorus director; Marsha Rodgers, band director, assistant band director; Megan Frantz, eighth-grade adviser, National Honor Society adviser, student council adviser; Corey Smith, Lego Club adviser; Michael Murphy, Math Counts adviser, yearbook adviser; Jennifer DiSante and Alisa Kemmerer, academic club co-advisers.

Elementary school

• Marsha Rodgers, band director; Samantha Bubel, chorus director.

Other

• Thorn Devlin, ski club adviser.

• Ray Lenhart, substitute coordinator.

• Mark Beltz, auditorium manager, stage manager, audiovisual manager and band director.

The board also approved the following liaison/department chairpersons:

High school

• Thomas Kanger Jr, business education; Cathy Miorelli, extended services; Jen Curcio, fine and practical arts; Jillian Tuckett, language arts; Michael Grabowski, mathematics; Ellen Troxell, health and physical education; Roseann Weinrich, Science; Connie Segedy, Social Studies; Amanda Hascin, world language; Jody Bachert, special education.

Middle school

• Kristine Schellhammer, language arts; Megan Frantz, mathematics; Edward Mariano, Science; Jennifer DiSante, Social Studies; Trisha Maksimik, special education.

Tamaqua Elementary

• Diane Michalik, grades K-2; Cindy Viel, grades 3-5; Alicia Murphy; special education.

West Penn Elementary

• Vanessa Boyle, grades K-2; Nicole Evans, grades 3-5; Jennifer Kinder, special education.

The board also approved the following 2018 volunteer band assistants:

• John Potlunas, Adam Shumgart, Allie Gerber, Jamie Mateyak, Samantha Bubel, and Joshua Bishop.
