Drug raid in Tamaqua nets 2
Tamaqua police arrested two people after conducting a drug raid at 31 N. Railroad St., on Monday afternoon.
Officers executed an arrest warrant at 11:50 a.m., taking three people — one man and two women — out of the house. The trio was handcuffed and sat on the curb while officers searched the home.
Charged as a result of the search warrant were Tihanne Rasheed Wright, 37, of 31 N. Railroad St., and Melissa Filer, 48, of Tamaqua.
Warrants for Wright’s arrest were issued in connection with three controlled buys of illegal drugs, dating from December 2017 through early 2018. He was charged with three felony counts each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Filer was arrested on outstanding warrants unrelated to Monday’s raid.
Wright an Filer were transported to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.
A second woman in the house at the time of the raid was set free.
