A look back: April 27, 1956

The appointment of Lewis A. Williams, 223 N. Second St., Lehighton, as industrial chairman, U.S. Savings Bonds Committee for Carbon County, was announced today by Wilbur G. Warner, Carbon County Savings Bonds Chairman.

Williams is well-known throughout Carbon County and Northeastern Pennsylvania as Lu-Rae Fashions Dress manufacturer. He is a director of the Lehighton Board of Education and a member of the Lehigh Valley Club, Lehigh Fire Company, American Legion and the Pennsylvania Garment Manufacturers Association.

Williams urged every employer in Carbon County to take advantage of the Payroll Savings Plan for employees to purchase U.S. Savings Bonds.
